#CambMeetUp at Catesbys

Catesbys Cambridge Blogger Meet Up

Last Sunday I was lucky enough to attend my first ever blogger event along side Hannah (Suitcase and Sandals). We were both a bit nervous to attend but ended up having the best time and we were so glad we went. The event was held in Catesbys, a little homeware shop/café tucked down a side street in Cambridge. Admittedly I had never looked in there before, but I had heard great things about it!

As soon as I stepped foot in Catesbys, I knew I was in love. I don’t actually have my own house yet, but that doesn’t stop me wanting to buy all the homeware! Catesbys is filled with so many intricate home accessories, from cute candles to lovely pieces of wall art. The shop itself is so beautifully decorated with wooden panels and a grand fireplace. It just gives it all such a homely, welcoming feel. I spent a while having a wander round and getting all heart-eyed over all the homeware!

Once all the bloggers had arrived, the founders Jonathan and Neil gave a little talk about Catesbys history. It was so clear how much passion they had for their business, and their love for what they did. Everything in the shop was handpicked by themselves and inspired by effortlessly chic French style. They wanted to fill the shop with things people want to keep forever, which makes the whole shopping experience so much more meaningful.

After learning a bit about the history of Catesbys, we were invited upstairs to their café where a very generous brunch had been prepared. There were lots of little cakes, pastries and savoury bits, but obviously no one was allowed to take a bite until all the bloggers had taken their pictures!

We all sat and got to know each other a bit better. It was so nice to chat with other people that have the same things as you in common, all while enjoying a delicious brunch! All of it was so yummy- I am definitely going to have to go back.

After the brunch we were told about an exciting new project Catesbys were working on. They have come up with a concept to help redesign a room in your house, without having to redecorate. As they have a lot of different decorative pieces, they have created themed boxes filled with accessories to transform a room. There were three boxes: Cool Kitchen, Summer Dining and Hot Desk. I honestly couldn’t pick a favourite because each was filled with such cool things. I loved the giant cutlery set in the Cool Kitchen Box and the cool light bulb lamp in the Hot Desk box. The boxes start from £200, which may seem a little expensive, but if you imagine how much a complete redecorate would cost, it seems quite reasonable. I think these boxes are a great idea- I hope they bring out more in the future.

We then headed back downstairs to have a browse through all of the beautiful homeware again. I ended up buying a stunning little ombré vase and three little bowls. I thought they would all be great for blog photography! Plus they were a bargain at £1.50 each in the sale.

After the event, Hannah, Pippa (Clashing Time) and I headed off to go take some outfit pictures. These will be coming up in another blog post shortly. Pippa runs #CambMeetUp and has been planning this event for a while, and she did such a good job with it. It was such a fun event to attend, and I hope to go to more in the future!

Thank you very much to Pippa, Jonathan and Neil for a great first blogger event!

If you are ever looking for a cute little café in Cambridge, then head over to Catesbys. I guarentee that you won’t leave without a bag with some of their homeware!
