I have been trying and testing god knows how many teeth whitening products over the past few years, most of which have been fairly expensive. So if a few weeks ago you had come up to me and said you had found a product that actually works and only costs £1.49, I would probably not believe you…
I came across the Eucryl Toothpowder after my boyfriend started using it and I commented on how white his teeth were looking. He said that he had just been using this and as it was only £1.49 I thought it was worth a try. For that little price, you can’t really go wrong. I was previously using the Janine Ultra White Maxiwhite Toothpaste but at £10 a tube I found it really expensive and toothpaste doesn’t last that long… So to have a whitening product that I know will last a while and is only £1.49, it seems a no-brainer to try it out!
It used to be known as Eucryl Smokers Toothpowder because it was created to remove the stains from smokers teeth. However after lots of research (and how effective the product was), it was rebranded as Eucryl Toothpowder as smokers using the product didn’t like it being labelled a ‘smokers product’.
I will admit that the packaging isn’t all that and to be honest at first glance you probably wouldn’t expect much from it. It looks quite old fashioned and a bit unusual, meaning it doesn’t really stand out on the shelf- I only noticed it when I was actually looking for it. Otherwise I would never have thought to try it! It comes in a circular tub, from which you pull the lid of to reveal a strange looking green powder.
How to use toothpowder
So to use toothpowder all you have to do is brush your teeth like normal with your toothpaste. Then once you have rinsed, wet your toothbrush and dip in into the powder. Shake off any excess powder and brush your teeth as normal. The powder froths up like toothpaste, which as first I wasn’t expecting!
It tastes like toothpaste would as it is freshmint flavour. There is no unpleasant aftertaste to it. It just leaves you feeling minty fresh and your teeth squeaky clean! After brushing my teeth with this after toothpaste, my teeth literally couldn’t feel cleaner.
As the formula is quite strong and effective, it is recommend that you only use this 2-3 times a week. And to be honest that is all you really need. It gets to work quite quickly at removing any stains on your teeth.
Results from using Eucryl Toothpowder
After using it for four weeks now my teeth have actually gotten so much whiter and I am so impressed with the results. I have been using it twice a week after brushing my teeth like normal first. Not only do my teeth feel incredibly clean, but any staining I had before has completely disappeared. I wish I had a before and after picture to share, but unfortunately I didn’t think to take one before I started using the toothpowder. So I will just have to describe the results! My teeth are a very natural shade of white now- not that they were yellow before but they weren’t this white for sure. My teeth just look an even shade of white that has made me feel a lot more confident with my smile. I am never going to love my teeth (why did I not wear my retainers when I was younger *cries*) but I feel like this is a step forward!
My teeth are never going to be super white unless I win the lottery and get them professionally whitened but for £1.49 this stuff has really worked, and so much is so much better than I ever could have imagined. I am totally going to carry on using this and will be buying more in the future. This is such a cheap teeth whitening product, that I would be silly to not carry on using it.
You can buy Eucryl Toothpowder from Superdrug for £1.49.
