The Body Shop Instaglow Peachy Glow CC Cream

If you follow my instagram you will have seen that I recently popped to the Body Shop to pick up a few pieces. I love browsing through their ranges, but one thing I never really look at is the makeup. On this occasion, I thought I would have a look. One particular product took my eye; the Instaglow Peachy Glow CC Cream.
I don’t like wearing foundation every day so I thought that a CC cream would be a good alternative. So when I saw this product I was immediately interested. I have to admit, it was the packaging that drew me in. Though it doesn’t look really fancy, I just like how simple and no-nonsense it was. Plus it kinda looks a little rose-goldy, and you know bloggers and rose gold. It is like instant attraction!

There are three shades of the CC Cream: bright glow, peachy glow and warm glow. After testing them each on my hand, I decided peachy glow was the one for me. I am quite pale so I thought that this was the perfect shade my brightening my skin. The swatch on my hand made it look like it would give me a really nice glow… so I thought I would buy it!

The swatch on my hand below is actually quite rubbish though… The camera wouldn’t pick it up but next to the blob I have actually blended it into my hand and up close it gives a very subtle glowy shimmer but this is just not replicated on my face!

When it came to actually trying on it on my face I was left completely underwhelmed and disappointed. I put little blobs of it on my cheeks and forehead then used my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge to blend it in. Once I was finished there was just nothing. And by that I mean you couldn’t even tell I had applied any product to my face. There was literally no trace of it whatsoever. It is so strange because on my hand it looked so nice but when I actually put it on it just made no difference to my skin.

It is supposed to help minimise the appearance of pores and reduce shine but I didn’t notice it doing either of those things. Considering I am very pale, you would expect this to really show on my skintone…

I feel so gutted as I had such high hopes for this product but unfortunately, it just did not work for me. I feel like maybe I should have gone for the bright glow one as it might have at least given my skin a glow to it. For £14 it was such a waste of money for me!

My trip to the Body Shop wasn’t a complete waste of time, though! I also picked up the All-In-One Cheek Colour in the shade Macaroon and I absolutely love it. It gives such a flawless finish with a really nice subtle cheek glow.

It blends out so easily – and you can also tell it is good quality because you don’t get left with lots of excess product on the brush when you swirl it around the pot. I can see myself buying this in a few more colours.

But anyway, I would love to know if any of you have tried the Instaglow CC Cream and if it worked for you. Let me know!
