I haven’t subscribed to Birchbox in so long. I used to be a regular subscriber but after getting really frustrated with the contents of each box, I soon decided it wasn’t for me anymore. But after seeing that this month’s Birchbox had the new Benefit lipsticks included, I knew I needed to subscribe again!
So this was the main reason I subscribed. I absolutely love the colour I received, although admittedly I wasn’t too keen when I first opened it as I was like wow, bright! But when applied it is super pretty and perfect for summer. I love the fact that this is both a lipstick and lipliner in one as I always forget to apply lip liner, so I’m all for these 2 in 1’s. It applies really smoothly, but I would say that applying it to your bottom lip is a little bit tricky as you have to tip the lipstick the other way round. My hand kind of gets in the way so it can be difficult to see what I am doing, but I got there in the end and was really happy with the shade.
Normally I find getting things like this in my Birchbox really boring, but on this occasion, I was very happy to receive some makeup remover! I was in need of a travel sized one to take on a weekend away and this is perfect. This one can apparently remove the toughest of eye makeup and also helps reduce any signs of bags under the eyes – a definite bonus for me!
Batiste isn’t my favourite brand of dry shampoo (sorry, not sorry). I find it comes across too powdery in my hair so instead, I normally go for the collab one which has a sheer invisible formula. But after seeing that this one is invisible, I am excited to see how it works in my hair. I also love that is will help condition my hair at the same time – again, loving these 2 in 1’s!
Korres products are always great and smell absolutely amazing. This one is no exception. It has a lovely musky but fresh scent. The bottle is again travel sized so is perfect for taking to the gym or on weekends away. If I am honest I probably won’t ever buy this full size, but I do love getting them in beauty boxes as they are handy to take around.
I love trying out new primers – anything that will work at getting my makeup to stick to my face for a little bit longer! I’m hoping that this one does as it claims and smooths out my skin, reducing any pores and getting my skin prepped before I apply any makeup.
Overall I am actually really impressed with the contents of this box. For the first time, I will probably use all the samples I received. I think that on any other month I wouldn’t have been too impressed, as apart from the lipstick, the other products aren’t all that exciting. But as I needed travel sizes of makeup remover and dry shampoo, it actually seemed to work in my favour. There is still time to pick up your own Birchbox containing a Benefit lipstick if my blog post convinced you!
