At the start of this year, I began going back to gym classes. I got dragged into the “new year, new me” routine of things and have somehow found the motivation to keep going. But although I haven’t seen huge results from going to gym classes around three or four times a week, my arms seem to be showing some signs of muscle (yippee!). So about a month ago I came across The Body Shop Spa Fit Toning Concentrate that was supposedly going to help tone my skin, I was all over it – especially when I found out it was down from £14 to £7. Bargain!
“Enriched with 100% natural-origin citrus and caffeine ingredients”
This product is supposed to help visibly tone and refine problem areas. I am very self-conscious of my arms, and even though they are gradually starting to become more toned from weights, I wanted something that would help them look more toned quickly and this seemed like a quick fix.
The Body Shop Spa Fit Toning Concentrate comes in a white tube, with a pump lid on the top. It is a little bit annoying because you can’t actually see how much product you have left in the tube. I was pushing the lid from ages and nothing was coming out. I was starting to get really annoyed, thinking that it had already run out until I realise it was just a big air bubble…
The product itself comes out a little like The Body Shop Body Sorbets, which I absolutely love. They are just so refreshing! This has the same kind of texture maybe a little smoother, but it is more of a gel than a moisturiser for sure. When you rub it in, you get a cooling and slightly tingly sensation from it which makes it so nice on all your muscles after an intense class. It feels really refreshing and definitely helps the muscles in my arms to relax.
The scent of the Spa Fit Toning Concentrate is actually very strong and not something that will appeal to everyone. It is basically a strong citrus scent that smells a little bit like a cleaning product… But the more I have used it, the more I have gotten used to it.
After nearly four weeks continuous use, I am actually very impressed with this product and will be buying it again when I run out! It is a must have for any gym bag. I have to admit that I thought it was a bit of a gimmicky product when I first go it and was sceptical as to if it would actually make a difference or not. But I have definitely noticed a difference in the texture of the skin on my arms. It is a lot more refined and smooth. My skin does also seem a lot more supple. I would have loved to have tried this with the massager that goes with it. It is supposed to really help with cellulite.
If you are looking for a product that will actually tone your arms, then this isn’t for you. No product can give toned arms. For that, you need to head on down to the gym and do some weights. I do a class called Body Pump and absolutely love it!
