We all want that magic-bullet treatment that can instantly transform our bodies. However, I think what most people hope for (myself included) is a miracle treatment that means we don’t have to go to the gym. Sadly that doesn’t exist and I believe that if you really want something, then you will work hard for it. But that doesn’t mean that there aren’t products out there that can help in the process. So I have been putting a couple of the Dr.Ceuticals body firming products to the test, to see if body firming gels actually work.
The overnight sculpt treatment claims smooth and improve all areas of ‘orange peel’ on the skin, you know those dimply bits of skin. In just 28 days it can apparently get your skin up to 39% firmer and 24% more toned, with a proven centimetre loss on the thighs, hips and buttocks. It also helps hydrate and nourish, which is something I wasn’t aware of previously in any other toning products I have tried in the past. Most of them require another layer of moisturiser adding on top to keep your skin feeling soft.
It works by using cooling Menthol to help target areas of cellulite as you sleep. While a “slimming red algae derived ingredient” helps redefine your body and tackles fat even in the most stubborn of areas. So how well did it work for me?
Does the Overnight Sculpt Treatment work?
So I was using this for just over a month, as instructed every night. I would put it on after showering just before I got into bed. You have to take the time to sort of massage it into the problem areas to stimulate circulation. As it has a gel texture it dries fairly quickly so I didn’t find there was much of a waiting time to get dressed after using it.
The areas I applied this too were my thighs and bum. These are my main problem areas when it comes to orange peel skin. I seem to get bit dimples especially on my thighs, which are more noticeable when I am sat down. It is only recently I have started to notice these so introducing this product into my routine was very welcomed!
After over 28 days use, I have to admit that while I didn’t notice the centimetre loss on my thighs I did notice a huge difference in the “orange peel” areas of skin. My thighs aren’t half as dimply as they once were, and the same for my bum. I was actually left very impressed with this as I wasn’t expecting it to make much of a difference. But I was left wrong, and actually very impressed with this. The bottle says that you need to use it for 3 months for optimum results. So while there wasn’t enough in the bottle to use it for that much time, I am very surprised to see how well it worked after just one month. For only £19.99, it is a fairly expensive product but it definitely did give good results for me so I totally would buy it again.
Dr.Ceuticals Tummy Tone*
The tummy tone contains a “proven active ingredient” that helps to tighten your tummy and love handles. I’m quite self-conscious of my hips, as I’ve always found them to be quite wide and recently very un-toned as I haven’t been to the gym in a while…oops. So I was hoping this would help sort those areas out and provide me with a way of toning my tummy without the effort – I can dream!
Did the Tummy Tone gel work?
This is a difficult one. I think I put too much expectation on one product and hoped for a miracle (easily done!). I was applying this both in the morning and evening as recommended on the bottle, but unfortunately, I didn’t notice too much of a result. My mean my skin feels slightly more firm/soft, it isn’t something I would necessarily notice if I wasn’t using this product. Does that make sense? It is quite difficult to explain, but all in all, I didn’t get as much as a result as I did with the Overnight Sculpt Treatment. So if I was going to tell you which to buy, it would definitely be the sculpt treatment as you will 100% see results with that one. Both are the same price too.
As I said before though, these are the types of products you need to use alongside exercise. I was lucky to see results from the Overnight Sculpt Treatment at all considering I didn’t go to the gym while using it. I think if I had have done I would have had more luck with the products. But it just shows that the miracle product doesn’t yet exist! If you are interested in picking either of thse products up, you can find the range of Dr.Ceuticals products at Boots.
