Skincare is one of those things that you can only get right from trying and testing out a few different products. It definitely takes a while to know when you have found the right product for your skin type. With this in mind, I have been trialling out a new 100% natural skincare range from Willowberry.
Who are Willowberry?
Willowberry is a new skincare company producing natural skincare designed to help boost your skin’s well-being. It focuses on using all natural ingredients, focusing on ‘superfood’ ingredients to help bring your skin the nutritional benefits. Using only unrefined natural oils and butters, the Willowberry skincare range uses all natural ingredients to produce each product. The batches are kept in small quantities to ensure that quality and freshness is maintained to the highest standard. Now that is the kind of effort you want put into your skincare, right?!
So for the past month, I have been trying out the skincare products available at Willowberry. I often use products filled with many ‘unnatural’ ingredients, so it has definitely been interesting trying out completely natural skincare, and I have been left pleasantly surprised!
So before trying this, I had never actually tried any cleansing balms before. So I will admit, I was a bit nervous that it wouldn’t suit my skin and might cause a slight breakout. But I went ahead and started using it anyway and haven’t looked back since. This is such a good cleanser!
Containing a mix of vitamins to help repair, regenerate and protect, this cleansing balm is super gentle on the skin. I just put a little bit on my fingers, then slowly rub it into my skin in circular motions. I have found it extremely gentle when taking off my eye makeup. It doesn’t take long to melt away my mascara, ready to wipe away. Once I have finished massaging the cleansing balm in, I then take a warm wet cloth and wipe away my makeup and the cleansing balm. Whats more, it contains vitamin E so it has been helping reduce some of my spot scarring.
One thing that I think won’t be for everyone, with this cleansing balm and probably just the range overall, is the scent. The cleansing balm really smells like Turkish delight. The other two products are slightly similar, but they definitely have a very distinct scent. It isn’t florally but has a sort of cocoa-y scent to it. Very difficult to explain, but I wouldn’t say it is unpleasant!
Another skincare product I had never tried before was a facial oil. As I have problem skin, it can often get slightly oily so I wasn’t sure how it would react to an oil. However, I needn’t have worried as it has really helped my skin! The first night I used this, I couldn’t believe how soft my skin was when I woke up. Like it was unbelievably soft! And I know that sounds like quite a tall claim as I know that it takes at least 4 weeks to notice the difference with skincare products, but this one honestly my skin felt so good from using this so quickly. It gave my skin such a concentrated hydration boost, which really smoothed out the texture. You can also use this facial oil underneath moisturiser meaning you can keep your skin really hydrated.
I have saved my favourite product from the range until last… The Willowberry Nutrient Boost Day Cream is one of those lovely skincare products that you know your skin just loves. It is such a luxurious product that will always leave my skin feeling amazing. It takes a few seconds to become fully absorbed so I like to put a little dot on each cheek, my chin and forehead and then massage it all in. Once it has sunk into the skin, there is no greasy residue left behind so you can go straight ahead to applying your makeup.
Again, this product has a different sort of scent being described as “a soft, spa-like fragrance of rosewood and geranium from natural essential oils, for indulgent pampering“. You can definitely smell the rosewood and geranium in it – although as I mentioned before, it isn’t a typical floral scent.
I have really loved using this skin care range for the past month, and if there is one product I will invest in again it will probably be the day cream. My skin has seen such an improvement in its hydration and texture so the benefits will be well worth the cost. Being a 100% natural skincare range, I think the price can definitely be justified as you know you are only putting goodness into your skin. I just hope that there is a night cream released soon as that would definitely be something I would love to see in the range next!
