I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, I’m lazy. In the mornings I just can’t be bothered to spend ages on my makeup. I usually just prefer to follow as simple a routine as possible. But when it comes to work ready makeup, I do actually like to make an effort, but still keeping my makeup to a minimum where possible.
So I have finally (thank god) nailed the easy 10-minute work-ready makeup. This is the makeup I will go for on days when I need to look presentable, e.g. meeting days! If it is just a normal day at work, I usually go with this simple makeup routine.
I have actually timed this and it is 100% under 10 minutes – and that is without rushing. I mean I don’t mess about, I do get down to business and get it done as quickly as possible, it’s just not a 100mph routine.
Concealer + Powder = 2.5 minutes
Sometimes I wear a full face of foundation, but the majority of the time I choose not to. I much prefer having a fresher face (and also foundation takes time!). So I will mainly just reach for my trusty Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer. I apply this under my eyes and on any problem areas. I then use my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge to blend it all in smoothly. Once it is all blended, I set it with my powder. This helps reduce shine and keep the concealer in place.
Eyes + Bronzer + Blusher = 3 minutes
Moving onto the eyes, this is where my newest purchase comes into play. The Charlotte Tilbury Look in a Palette. 100% one of the best things I have ever purchased – it is worth every penny. I use each of the eyeshadows in the palette to create an easy day look. The shadows are so blendable that this step literally only takes a few seconds.
Again, using the same magnificent palette, I use the bronzer to lightly contour under my cheek bones and add a bit of colour. I then use the blush to give a pop of pink to my cheeks. To apply both of these I use the Pro HD Contour Brush and the Pro HD Powder Brush from the Makeup Revolution Iconic Nudes Brush Collection*.
Eyebrows + Mascara = 2.5 minutes
There are only two things left to do: Brows and mascara. I use the Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes Mascara – another new purchase I am loving. It is a super quick mascara to use to get your lashes lifted and looking full and fluttery.
And you’re finished! It is such an easy 10 minute (well 8 minutes to be precise), look to get your work ready. I think it all comes down to the Charlotte Tilbury Look in a Palette if I am honest. It is such a time-saving product with the main components of your makeup look all being stored together. I would highly recommend investing! It is also a good palette to take you from day to night.
