I don’t quite know what has happened, but in the past couple of months, my skin has gone from being pretty good to an absolute mess. When this happens I love to give new ranges a go for a month or so to see if I can notice any difference. So for just over a month, I have been trying out the Super Facialist Salicylic Anti Blemish Range.
I’ve had a (what I think is a) hormonal break out all across my chin and jaw. And let me tell you now, it is painful! Face washes aren’t something I usually have in my daily skincare routine. But after seeing such good reviews about the Super Facialist Salicylic Anti Blemish Range, I thought I would try them out. After all, my skin has been so bad that I didn’t really have anything to lose.
As I said before, face washes aren’t something I usually include in my skincare. I’ve never really got on that well with them as I find they really dry my skin out… And unfortunately, that is exactly what happened with this one. My skin was so dry but not flaky, it just felt really stiff. I think this was maybe 1, because it was a face wash and 2, because of the salicylic acid content. But I can’t really be too sure as I use The Ordinary Salicylic acid…
After just a couple of uses, I found my skin to not only be dry but also a little red. But I didn’t want to give up with it just yet. So what I decided to do was keep it in my shower (so much less messy!) and use it in the mornings every few days. And it worked well! I began to notice a visible difference in the spots around my jawline. The ones on my chin took a little more time to heal, mainly because my hormones were making new ones pop up every so often.
So alongside the occasional use of the face wash, I was using the face mask twice a week and it worked an absolute treat. This face mask is totally brilliant for anyone suffering from breakouts. It has a clay like texture which isn’t too thick so it applies over the face generously. You leave it on for five minutes and then wash off.
I absolutely love how my skin feels after using it. Like it has a bit of a glow to it and then the following morning, my chin and jawline seem to clear up that little bit more. Obviously, it does take a while to get rid of breakouts (especially if they are hormonal), but I’m going to keep at it with the face wash and mask because I can honestly see such good results.
The only problem now is that I have been left with awful spot scars around my face so I’m going to have to start using my Willowberry Facial Oil again. I stopped using it when I started with the Super Facialist range as I didn’t want to overdo it on the skincare. But when I was using the facial oil, I did notice a huge difference in the speed at which my scars were healing.
Have you tried any of the Super Facialist skin care ranges? Which is your favourite?
