2018 will be my year. I have decided it will be a good year for me – and do you know why? I am going to make it! Last year I spent my time moping about and yes, sometimes though I feel it is acceptable to do so for a little while, it isn’t healthy to continue in that mind-set. So with my positive cap on, I have a few things I really want to aim for this year.
1. Develop my content
I want to try and make my content different. I keep thinking about this one every time I write a blog post, and sometimes I don’t manage to achieve it. But I am hoping as the year goes by, I will get better at it. There are so many bloggers out there, that content can often become diluted and samey. So each time I write a blog post I am going to attempt at thinking of a different angle, even if it is really difficult! I want readers to be able to come to find out something they didn’t know, and I think that is the key. I just need to try and put it into action.
2. Go cruelty-free
I hate the fact that we are in 2018 and we are still testing cosmetic products on animals. Going cruelty-free is something I have thought about in the past, but never fully actually acted upon. So from now on, I am going to do my absolute best to only purchase from brands I know are not tested on animals. This means no more Benefit… In their case their website states they don’t test on animals, but I do believe they are sold in China, so, for now, they aren’t completely cruelty-free. Instead, I will be reaching for more of my favourite cruelty-free brands, like essence, bareMinerals and Too Faced.
I know that there are probably going to be times that I get it wrong, so please bear with me on this one as I learn which brands are cruelty-free. In the meantime, if you have any suggestions for cruelty-free brands that you love, please do let me know! I’ve also decided that rather than wasting the non-cruelty-free products that I already own, I will just use them up until they have been finished, then I just won’t repurchase them.
3. Realising my worth
As I said before, I spent a lot of the end of last year in a horrible place, so I want to make this year my year. And to do that I need to realise my worth. I want to take this year to develop and focus on myself. I want to work on things like my confidence and become the kind of person I want to be. I am not saying I want to “change” myself, but more just develop to become the best version of me. This includes becoming body confident. I am in the process of finding a personal trainer as I definitely want to tone up, but I am really struggling to find a female one…
