Bésame cosmetics have been around since 2004 creating vintage retro cosmetics. The colours are exact replicas of those used by hollywood stars! With all of their products, they try to create modern reproductions keeping that vintage style with all elements, especially the packaging. I think the packaging of any product is so important as it is what first attracts someone to purchase it. This lipstick* was no disappointment. It came in a cute little, red box which inside contained a red velvet pouch with the lipstick inside. The lipstick comes in a gold case embellished with a floral pattern around the outside. It really is quite lovely!

The colour of the lipstick, Champagne*, was absolutely stunning. It is a warm toned, soft, natural beige with a hint of shimmer, which is perfect for every day wear. I have been looking for a lipstick this colour for ages and this one just hits the nail on the head. It is even more perfect than I imagined. It has the most amazing pigmentation and literally glides on my lips so smoothly. You only need one coat because it is so pigmented. It has the perfect amount of shimmer that isn’t overpowering but instead really highlights your lips. I’m not usually a fan of lipsticks with shimmer in them but this is just something else. It just looks so natural and effortless.
The lipstick is enriched with vitamins A, E and C, aloe and green tea. It will keep your lips nice and hydrated. It is always so much nicer when lipsticks contains added extras that will benefit your lips. I noticed that this lipstick was not drying on my lips at all. It is like wearing lip balm disguised as a lipstick!
The shape of the lipstick is a little different to my other lipsticks but I really liked that. It took some getting used to but eventually I found the shape made it easier to apply than the standard lipstick shape. The only difficulty would be once you have worn it a few times and started to wear down the precision edges.
All in all, this is an absolutely fantastic lipstick. The shade Champagne would suit anyone in my opinion as it is a really subtle colour. If you are looking for good quality lipsticks in amazing packaging, then check out the rest of the colours Bésame have to offer here.
