This months Birchbox was ‘Habitat’ themed. I loved the box as soon as I saw it, just because of how colourful it was! I know some people have been a little disappointed with the contents of their boxes, but I actually really liked mine this month. I received quite a good selection of products and you get a 20% discount at Habitat.
This month we were lucky enough to be able to pick our own choice of Benefit mascara. You had the option of BADgal, They’re Real! or Roller Lash. I think it is no surprise that most people opted for Roller Lash, being their newest mascara. I got a little sample of this in Elle magazine and loved it so much, so I of course when for Roller Lash too. I just love the formula and the way it lifts my lashes. I have never seen any other mascara have the same results. I just think the full size is a little out of my budget.
I also got the Philip Kinglsey Smooth Cream for medium & coarse, curly, frizzy hair textures. I quite like getting products like this because my hair always needs taming but I end up buying so many products and they don’t really work. Getting samples is a great way of finding something that actually works. I will definitely be testing this out, especially as it feels quite lightweight. I don’t like heavy products that really weigh my hair down.
Another of the products was this little perfume sample, Catherine Malandrino Eau de Parfum. Not too sure about getting these in my Birchbox, but at least it smelt nice! It has a lovely fresh, floral smell. At £50 full size, I don’t think I will purchasing it any time in the near future…
This Lord & Berry Bronzer sample in Sienna was another product I got in this months box. The sample is a little small but I think I will still manage to use it. I love bronzers that don’t have all the shimmer in them as you can use them as a good contour. I think I would have benefitted from a darker shade but I still am happy with this one.
The last beauty item I got was this bag of Serenity Skincare Dead Sea Bath Salt. I can’t wait to use these in the bath! I love items like this as you can use them as an exfoliator. I haven’t actually seen anyone else get this in their Birchbox yet…
Finally in this months box we got two lifestyle extras, which I am not really a huge fan of. One was a chapter from A Perfect Heritage by Penny Vincenzi and the other a small notebook. I don’t really see the point of putting only a chapter of a book in. I probably won’t read it. The notebook is quite small, so I am not sure how much use I will get out of it, but I guess it will be handy to keep in my bag.
Overall, I was very impressed with this months box (forgetting about the lifestyle extras…). I liked all of the samples I received and will be putting them all to good use! I am excited to see what next months box holds as everyone will be getting a Laura Mercier product.
What did you think of the March Birchbox?
