Pancakes are one of my main loves. When it comes to eating them, I am real trooper – I can eat quite a few before I start to feel full. It is basically one of those things where I just don’t know where to stop. But that doesn’t matter because they taste so good. So last week when I passed My Old Dutch, I knew I would be paying them a visit shortly.
Fast forward a few days and I am there, ready and waiting for my pancakes. I was back in London visiting my bestie and knew that going to My Old Dutch would be the perfect place to catch up. We both love pancakes so I had no problem persuading Candela that we needed to eat there!
The first time I saw the pancake house, I was walking past and it was quite hard to miss. With it’s bright orange shop front covered in sweets, it is very difficult for it to not tempt you inside!
Once we were sat down and handed our menus, it is safe to say that we were very overwhelmed with the huge choice of pancakes on the menu, not to mention waffles as well! Every single flavour you could want was on this menu. They even had Roald Dahl pancakes – these are the ones that were stacked up high and covered in so much sugary goodness you would be buzzed from one bite!
In the end Candela and I decided on two pancakes, so we could have half each and try them both. We chose the four cheese pancake (mozerella, cheddar, halloumi and gouda) and the amsterdammer (bacon, maple syrup and sautéed apple). We 100% made the right decision with our choices! They were both so delicious, but I have to say that the cheese one was my favourite. So.much.cheese! One thing I should also mention, if you can’t tell from the pictures, these pancakes are huge. Definitely the biggest pancake I have ever had!
Somehow after we had quite swiftly finished those two pancakes, we still found room for another to share. So we ordered a classic lemon and sugar one – equally as delicious as the last two!
After spending a good couple of hours in there, we finally made our move. I’m not going to lie, for pancakes this place is quite expensive averaging at around £10 per pancake, but they are so good, it is worth it! I will definitely be heading back in the near future.
Have you ever been to My Old Dutch?
