Night-Time Skincare Routine for Problem Skin

Night Time Skincare RoutineIf you have read any of my other posts you will know that I really struggle to keep my skin looking clear and fresh. I often have bad breakouts due to hormones, but I have finally found a night-time skincare routine that really suits my skin and its needs.

To remove my makeup…

Willowberry Cleansing BalmI’ve been using the Willowberry Nutrient Boost Cleansing Balm*. I just put a small scoop into my hands, rub them together then slowly rub into my makeup. It helps break down my mascara (even waterproof mascara) really quickly and leaves my skin feeling super soft! The Willowberry skincare range is completely natural, so I know that when using this my skin is only getting goodness from it. It also contains Vitamin E, which is a great ingredient for helping repair skin. This means that if like me you have a lot of spot scars, this will help reduce them and make them heal quicker.Lush Tea Tree Toner Water

To remove any last traces of my makeup, I spritz a little of the Lush Tea Tree Toner Water onto a cotton pad and wipe across my face. Tea tree is a well-known spot busting ingredient, so this is a must-have product in a problem skincare routine. I break out around my chin and jawline and from using this as a toner it has dramatically reduced the amount of spots I had in that area. Although I would say it isn’t a miracle cure. I do have to use this alongside other products (mentioned further down in the post) to keep my spots at bay.

To moisturise…

Healthspan Night Cream Treatment and Replenish Eye SerumFor the past month, I have been trialling out two new skincare products from Healthspan. The first is this Intensive Night Cream Treatment*, which on first glance I was like that is tiny! But unbelievably even after a months use it still has loads left in the tube. Which thank god, because it is my new favourite night cream and I never want it to run out! It has a really thick consistency, so only a small amount is needed for each application. I really like that this one is a squeezy tube too, as one of my pet hates is getting face cream stuck up my nails when it is in a tub! But the one thing I love about it the most is how quickly it sinks into the skin. No going to bed with greasy skin, because this soaks in super fast! It has also really helped with keeping my skin hydrated as it contains hyaluronic acid.

The other product from Healthspan is this eye cream. This Healthspan Replenish Eye Serum* is not only refreshing but again so hydrating. I did have an issue a month or so ago with the area under my eye being really dry but this has fixed it right up. It has been so moisturising and works a treat for reducing any puffiness under my eyes. This eye cream is also proven to help lift the upper eyelid as well as the lower.

Eye creams for me are usually quite difficult as it is quite a sensitive part of my face, so they don’t all agree with my skin. But this one has been an absolute treat and I have loved seeing the results it has had on my undereye areas.

To treat problem areas…Nip + Fab Extreme Glycolic Cleansing Pads and Sudocrem

So I have tried many different spot treatments over the years (as you can imagine), but none of them have lived up to the results of this product. It might leave you feeling quite surprised, but it is in fact Sudocrem. I slap this all over my problem areas before I go to bed. Usually loading it on a little too much but I do like it to be able to soak in slightly overnight.

I have never had such good results with any other product. I will go to bed with a full on erupted spot (gross), and then wake up in the morning with it significantly shrunk in size and completely dried up – amazing! It is such a cheap treatment for spots, so I highly recommend you go out and get yourself a tub.

Three times a week I also like to use the Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Extreme Night Pads. (currently half price at Boots!). As these are quite strong it is recommended that you only use them a few times a week and not daily. They have 5% glycolic acid (a fave ingredient of mine in skincare) as well as salicylic acid which helps unclog pores. These pads work so well for reducing oily skin and problem areas, so they are working wonders for my skin at the moment.

And that is my complete night-time skincare routine! It has made such a difference to my skin by having a routine like this in place every evening. So hopefully you can take away some good tips and recommendations.

What are your favourite night-time skincare products?
