Autumn makeup for me revolves around everything in rich colours like burgundy, brown and reds. Paired with glowy finishes you have got a winning autumnal makeup look. So I have put together a gorgeous autumn makeup look which you will definitely be able to easily recreate or even just get some inspo from.
The Laura Geller Spackle Under Makeup Primer* is the glowiest primer I have ever come across. The gold glow it adds to your face is just incredible and I cannot get enough of it. It is one of those fantastic multi-tasking makeup products that gives you not only glowing skin, but it hydrates and soothes too. The formula is just a dream to work with, and with its hydrating ingredients, it makes it perfect to use in the colder months. Because I don’t know about you, but this cold weather really dries my skin out!
I have such dull skin in the colder months. Like sometimes I even look a little grey… So with this primer under my makeup, I don’t need to worry about looking ghostly as this brightens up my whole face but still looks really natural. Plus it leaves you with the perfect base to work on top of. It doesn’t leave my skin looking oily in the slightest and just holds my makeup perfectly.
As I’ve used a glowy primer, I didn’t want to use a really heavy foundation on top. So I went for a light to mid coverage one: The Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum. Again, another product that isn’t drying on the skin in the slightest. As it isn’t matte finish, it leaves a nice glowy finish on the skin, so it works perfectly with the Laura Geller Primer.
To cover up the dark circles under my eyes, I used the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer. This stuff is fab. I’m on like my 5th tube of something, so that says it all really! It is a really nice consistency but needs a little blending around the eyes so it doesn’t sit in creases.
To set all of this in place, I use the Too Faced Born This Way Powder*, which again helps maintain that glowy finish. I love this powder because it keeps my makeup in place but without overly mattifying it. It is just a really lightweight powder that gives a lovely, natural finish to set your makeup in place. As it is so lightweight, you don’t get it settling on any patches of problem skin or fine lines. It is just perfect. I also have fairly oily skin on my forehead and this stops it looking shiny and my foundation from smudging for hours.
To keep up with all that glowiness, I add a little bit of my Benefit Hoola bronzer to contour my cheeks and then I give my cheekbones some major highlight with the Laura Geller Baked Gelato Highlighter* in Ballerina. This makes my cheekbones seriously pop and just enhances the glowy finish of the makeup, without it being really OTT. Ballerina is a kind of bronze shade so it just really enhances the bronzer underneath.
On the eyes, I also used the Laura Geller Highlighter. This is one of those brilliant one shade wonders (and a brilliant multi-use product!) as you really don’t need to put anything else with it… unless you’re like me and addicted to liquid eyeliner. In that case, the Soap & Glory Supercat eyeliner will do the job perfectly!
To finish off the eyes, the Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara* is essential. I much prefer using waterproof mascaras in colder weather as my eyes water loads! So at least with this mascara on, I don’t have to worry about my eye makeup dripping down my face!
This mascara is literally so insane. I haven’t tried it before, but I have been left so amazed with how great my lashes look with it. It did take a couple of days to get to a good consistency – I find fresh mascaras are often quite thin so need a couple of days to dry out and then the real results start to show. It lifts my lashes beautifully while also thickening them out. I still like to use an eyelash curler with this mascara, but it does keep them held in place for the majority of the day, which is fab.
And no autumnal makeup look would be complete without a dark lip! So I have finished the look off with the Too Faced Latex Liquified Lipstick* in Bite Me. This shade is such a gorgeous deep red burgundy. Slight warning, as it is so dark you definitely need to wear this with a lipliner! But once you have done that, this spreads over evenly but just need a steady hand. The finish is so worth the hard work applying it though as it just looks so autumnal and beautiful. I love the high-shine finish for this look as it really compliments the glowy finish to the makeup.
