It is safe to say that I am most definitely not a morning person. I really struggle to not only wake up but get out of bed and actually achieve something productive. It takes me a good few hours to wake myself up and start to feel like I might actually be able to continue with my day! But with the help of a new alarm clock, I think I might have finally found something that makes me a morning person…
I just want to start off by saying that this blog post is not sponsored. I was actually given it by my parents as a Christmas present and was over the moon to finally get to try it out for myself. I have seen a few things online about the Lumie Bodyclock, all of which was really positive, so I really wanted to see for myself it actually worked.
What is the Lumie Bodyclock?
It is an alarm clock that wakes you up with a sunrise. I have the Lumie Bodyclock STARTER 30, which means the sunrise is done over the space of 30 minutes, so you wake up gradually over this period of time. You do also have the option to have a beeping alarm set, just in case you think you won’t wake up with the light alone. I set both, but to be honest, I think as the light gets really bright I would probably not need the alarm as well.
As well as the sunrise feature, it also has a sunset so you can wind down gradually at the end of the day. Though to be honest I don’t really use this feature as I am constantly adjusting the brightness of the clock in the evening as I also use it as a bedside light. It has quite a few levels of brightness so it makes it perfect for reading before bed.
Does the Lumie Bodyclock work?
YES! I honestly didn’t expect it to have this kind of effect, but it really does work. I wake up without the horrible groggy feeling and actually find myself in a better mood each morning. And no matter how early I set the alarm for, I can still wake up feeling refreshed.
On one occasion I had to set my alarm at 5.50am, and I woke up and jumped out of bed. There was no way that I would have been able to wake up feeling that refreshed with a normal alarm. It’s crazy!
The only negative I can think of for this is that it does get quite hot if you leave it on the brightest setting for too long. However, the light does automatically turn off after 90 minutes. Regardless of this, I am so impressed with my Lumie Bodyclock and am so happy that I have finally found something that actually makes me a morning person!
