When it comes to beauty routines, everyone has their set way of doing things. But when I was thinking about the kind of things I use in my skincare routine on a daily basis, I realised there was so much more to it. There are other products I use on a daily and weekly basis for not just my skin, but my hair, nails and body, etc. And by using these products on a regular basis, they make me feel so much better about myself – nothing quite beats a chilled out pamper session! So here are my top five beauty products, that everyone should have in their collection…
A Nourishing Hair Mask
This is something I like to use on a weekly basis. As I have quite thick/frizzy hair, the ends are prone to getting super dry, so a hair mask really helps to hydrate my hair and keep it looking tamer. I also like to sleep in a hair mask so that it has time to soak in overnight, and it really makes such a difference to the condition of my hair. It is always much softer when I wake up in the morning than if I have just left it on for ten minutes.
A Creamy Body Butter
You can’t go without a good body butter in your self-care routine. It has taken me a while, but I have finally found a decent body butter that doesn’t leave you feeling really greasy. The Modern Apothecary Hand & Body Cream* (love a good multi-use product) is absolutely brilliant. I keep it on my bedside table so each evening after I have finished my skincare routine, I can put some on my arms and legs. Whatsmore, this product is completely natural, so it has no nasty ingredients that will dry your skin out.
A Cuticle Oil
If you want healthy, strong nails then you need a good cuticle oil. Like the body butter, I keep one on my bedside table so that I can apply it every evening. You will notice such a difference in the condition of your nails after regular use. You just brush a dab onto each nail and then gently massage it in. Your nails will love you for it!
A Deep Cleansing Face Mask
Every Sunday evening, I have a face mask on. Sunday evenings are the best time to have pamper sessions as it means you can relax and feel ready for the week ahead. At the moment I am loving the really deep cleansing face masks that are clay based. The clay really helps to draw out impurities, which has been brilliant for all the times I have had bad breakouts. My skin always seems so much better after using a deep cleansing mask! Two of my favourites at the moment are the Lush Mask of Magnaminty and the Avocadeau Face Mask*.
A Heat Protection Spray
I cannot stress the importance of owning a heat protection spray. If you blow dry your hair or put any kind of heat on it, then this is a product you need to own. It only takes a couple of sprays before putting heat on your hair, and it helps keep your hair in tip-top condition, without it getting damaged. I have recently started blowdrying my hair a lot more and I always make sure I use a couple of sprays of my favourite Neal & Wolf Heat Protection Spray* beforehand. Not only does it smell incredible, but it also does a great job at protecting my hair from intense heat.
Do you have any beauty essentials you can’t live without?
