8 Things To Do In London At Night

This is a collaborative post, however all thoughts are my own.

If you’re thinking of taking a trip to London, you don’t have to worry about trying to pack in everything during the day – London has tons of activities to do after dark. Here are just some of the cool things to do in the capital at night:

Go late night shopping

Many of the shops on Oxford Street are open until 9pm Monday to Thursday – so if you fancy doing some late night shopping, this is a great place to head to. London also has many late night markets for grabbing some yummy street food and buying local crafts.

Spend a night at the museum

Many of the museums in London open their doors at night for a few hours once a month. Some of these late night openings such as The Natural History Museum are free. This has been on my list to do for so long!

See a theatre show

The West End is known around the world as one of the greatest places for theatre. You’ll need to book several months ahead for many shows, however it is sometimes possible to find last minute theatre tickets for London shows online. Evening performances are most popular as you can head out for dinner then onto a show.

Go to a gig

London is also a hotspot for live music. Many of the biggest acts from around the world tour in London, although tickets for such events can be expensive and are worth booking ahead. Of course, there are also plenty of smaller live music performances that you can catch – many local bars and clubs have live music on a regular basis.

Take a walk

It’s worth taking a walk along the Thames at night simply to take in the sights after dark. There are also many organised night tours by foot in London – some of which are free – that can take you around the sights whilst informing you of the history of the city. You can also find some really interested theme tours, such as the Jack the Ripper tours.

Go on a bus tour

London also has many bus tours that operate at night. These can allow you to cover a greater area and sometimes see more sights. London lit up at night can be absolutely beautiful, so I really recommend doing something like this if you are visiting as a tourist!

Hit the bars

There’s definitely no shortage of places to get a drink in London. Drinks are generally quite expensive, however, there are cheaper spots to grab a pint if you’re willing to venture off the beaten track.

Go late night dining

Similarly, there such a wide variety of places to get a bite to eat. Whether you’re looking for fine dining or fast food, you’re certain to find somewhere in London catered to your taste. Being a very cosmopolitan city, you can taste foods from all around the world in the city.

Having just moved to London, there are so many exciting things I have on my list of things to do and see. It is such a busy city with something going on round every corner, so even if you’re only visiting for the day, you are sure to be kept entertained!
