I will be the first to admit that my wardrobe is probably very close to overflowing. But regardless of however full my wardrobe may be, there are certain styles of clothing that I will always go back to. And it is while I have been packing up my room to move back to London, that I have noticed the absolute staple dresses that I just can’t seem to get enough of… So I keep ending up buying more! These are the dresses that I unashamedly have in multiple style variations, just because they are such wardrobe staples!
So after a long ol’ browse on PrettyLittleThing, I came to realise that they have totally got your back when you need to stock up on your wardrobe staples. Their dress collection is not only totally affordable but also filled with all the essentials you need for giving your wardrobe a little refresh. I’ve picked out three of my favourite dress styles that you can’t go wrong with.
Dungarees Dress from PrettyLittleThing*
The one thing I absolutely love about dungarees dresses is how many different styles they come in and also how easy it is to layer them up. Right now, I am all about layering as it makes the outfit combinations endless (especially with the number of printed tops I have in my wardrobe…).
This shift style dungarees dress is the perfect example of a wardrobe staple. It has a classic shift style fit which makes it not only super comfortable but also really flattering. And… it has pockets! So basically, that makes it the dream dress.
Pull out all the striped tees and jumpers from the back of your wardrobe, because this dungarees dress is perfect for layering on top of them – and in this weather, I feel like layering is essential. I’ve been loving wearing it with high-neck long sleeve stripe tops and lots of layered necklaces. It is such an effortlessly easy dress to wear casually so you shouldn’t have any problem styling a dungarees dress into your everyday wardrobe.
T-shirt Dress from PrettyLittleThing*
The first thing I love about this dress is that it is a t-shirt style fit. And with a t-shirt style fit it means ultimate comfort. Secondly, you’re hitting two trends in one with the t-shirt style fit and leopard print!
The leopard print makes it that little bit more dressy, especially styled with some heeled boots and a leather jacket. And tbh, I am just sold on the leopard print alone as I cannot stop adding more and more of it to my wardrobe!
With that in mind, this leopard print t-shirt dress is an amazing date night/drinks outfit. The loose fit style is always a must when you’re going out for a nice dinner, which is why I think this dress is a great alternative to jeans and a nice top.
Sweater Dress from PrettyLittleThing*
This is the dress you come to when you have no time to think about styling an outfit. It is the ultimate, effortlessly stylish dress that you can throw on and still look super chic. The added comfort of it being like wearing a big cosy sweater is just a bonus!
I feel like you can literally get away with chucking this on with a simple necklace and some ankle boots (or Converse if you really are going for ultimate comfort), then you’re good to go. Most days I feel so lazy when I wake up, and early in the morning, my brain can’t function well enough to piece together an outfit – which is why this dress is so great. It literally is the outfit, no effort needed!
