When it comes to accessorising, the first thing I always reach for is jewellery. Whether it is a statement piece or something more delicate, jewellery is always the perfect way to finish an outfit. One item that I don’t have in my jewellery collection is a bangle. Whenever I go to accessorise, I have always grabbed a necklace and never really thought of going for a bracelet or bangle. So when Brown’s Family Jewellers got in touch I was more than happy to accept the challenge of styling up a bangle from their collection.
I was very kindly sent the Silver Stirrup Hook Bangle* - a really simple but beautiful piece of jewellery. The Stirrup bangle has a hook clasp, which gives it a unique twist and makes it stand out a little more. It is definitely a focal piece but without being too bold. It is the perfect piece for either wearing on its own or layered up with a couple of other bracelets, although I personally like it on its own as it is such a beautiful piece.
How to Style a Bangle
At first I was a little stuck on how to style the bangle. But then I soon realised, you don’t need to think about how to style it. A bangle is probably the easiest piece of jewellery to wear as it goes with absolutely everything! It is a piece of jewellery that you can literally throw on with any outfit to make it look that little bit more dressy.
I decided to wear this with my new shirt from Primark and a pair of blue ripped jeans from New Look. The reason I went for such a mix of smart and casual was to show just how easy it was to wear with any outfit. The bangle accessorises an outfit with ripped jeans really well as it looks really delicate against the frayed denim. While alongside a blouse it still maintains its smart and more formal edge.
Styling a Bangle as an Arm Cuff
Annoyingly I have very small wrists so it can often be difficult to get bracelets or watches to look nice on me. However, with a bangle like this, the benefit of having small wrists is that you can push it up to look more like an arm cuff. I love having the choice of wearing it as a bangle or arm cuff as you can really mix and match it with your outfits.
Styling a bangle as an arm cuff can also make your outfit look a little more dressy. It is perfect for wearing with a pretty dress on an evening out as sometimes you don’t want a necklace overpowering your outfit. This makes bangles a great alternative as they don’t distract from your dress.
Bangles are probably my new favourite piece of jewellery as they are just no fuss. Put it on and your outfit is accessorised. The stirrup bangle is an accessory you can wear daily because of its simplicity. It is a perfect effortlessly chic piece.
If you know someone that has a big birthday or anniversary coming up this year and you need to get a gift, I would suggest heading over to Brown’s Family Jewellers to check out their timeless pieces. Their jewellery is absolutely beautiful and the kind that you keep forever.
