Spring is hopefully on it’s way - if the weather ever decides to make it’s mind up and stop going from hot to cold! So with fingers firmly crossed, I’ve got my hopes up for some warmer weather. Meaning I can start bringing out all my cute summer dresses from the back of my wardrobe. But with the dresses comes the thought of bare legs… So in preparation for the warmer weather I have started doing what my housemate likes to call “body admin“. For me this is exfoliating and moisturising my legs to get rid of any patches of dry skin, and get ready to be fake tanned! These are a couple of products that have been helping…
Vitage Age Defence Body Therapy
I’ve been using the Vitage Age Defence Body Therapy body moisturiser* for the past few weeks, and woah has it made a difference. My legs were so dry from being neglected all winter, so using this on a daily basis has made such a difference. I’ve been sure to use exfoliating gloves alongside this to get rid of the patches of dry skin, so the moisturiser can be fully absorbed.
It has a really thick texture, which seems odd as it comes in a squeezy tube. But I think it can just about get away with it, rather than a tub. You just have to give it a bit of a tap against a hard surface to encourage the product to fall to the bottom of the tube. The thick texture means you only need a little bit, as it goes a long way. So even though I have been using this product on a regular basis, I can definitely see the tube lasting a while.
At £36 this is a very pricey body lotion… however, the science behind it kind of justifies the price. It uses active botanical ingredients that help to boost cell renewal and brighten the skin. It says that it lasts up to 72hours, but as I have been using it daily I’m not really able to comment on this. However, I have been impressed with how quickly it has gotten rid of my dry skin. Usually coming out of winter it can take a little while to get my legs in a fit shape to expose!
Vitage Revive & Repair Hand Cream
My hands have definitely suffered from winter as well. The constant cold to hot has made them quite dry, so I’ve been keeping the Vitage Revive & Repair Hand Cream* on my bedside table in the hope that I remember to use it both morning and evening.
I can 100% confirm that this has made a massive improvement. I’ve noticed this particularly around my knuckles and wrist, as these are the areas fake tan normally sticks to. But as I have been using this for a while, those areas are much less problematic and streaky.
The texture of this hand cream is spot on. There is nothing worse than applying it and being left with greasy hands, so you can’t actually do anything for a while. This has a fairly thick consistency, but as soon as you have rubbed your hands together, it has been absorbed. If only all hand creams were like that!
I actually really love this hand cream, but at £24 I am not sure it is something I will be able to afford on a regular basis. So I think it will have to be a treat every once in a while!
