If you are currently looking for an inspiration for a short city break, there are plenty of stunning cities you might not have seen before that are worth exploring. Whether you are looking for new themes for a really instagrammable location, or would like to update your blog hunting down the hidden gems of Britain, you will certainly have to add the below four cities to your travel bucket list.
Edinburgh
There is something so stunning about Edinburgh; the city has a unique feel about it, and you can find some amazing spots to take photos from, such as Calton Hill. The city is also famous for its amazing restaurants and bars, and you can have a lot of fun shopping on rainy days - and trust me, the shopping is great! Try to visit the National Museum of Scotland and go on a walking tour, so you can fully appreciate the magnificence of the city and the architecture of Edinburgh Castle.
Liverpool
For many people, Liverpool is not the ideal destination. While it still has a reputation of a large industrial city, it is in fact full of culture. There are some amazing free and paid museums, great theatres to choose from, and great public transport that allows you to explore the Wirral Peninsula and the beaches. Visit the Liverpool Docks, soak in the atmosphere, and book a table at one of the traditional authentic restaurants.
Salisbury
Voted one of the best places to live in Britain, Salisbury has put a lot of effort in improving its image and tourist facilities. Apart from the magnificent cathedral, you will be able to take a tour to Stonehenge, go on a walking tour, or take part in one of the local cultural events. This place is a hidden gem with loads of arisan shops and amazing restaurants to enjoy. Perfect for a city break.
London
There is no bad time to visit London. There is literally so much to see and do. If you arrive in the winter, you can do your Christmas or January shopping. If you are visiting in the spring or summer, you will find free music events and outdoor programmes. Thankfully, there are new shows released every year, so you will have plenty of entertainment options to choose from, too.
If you are interested in history, you should add Windsor Castle to your holiday bucket list. You can arrive by car or train and get a Windsor minicab to take you to your desired destination. From budget accommodation to boutique hotels, you are going to find the right place to stay inside the city centre or in the outskirts. The best way to make the most out of your trip is booking a walking tour and finding out as much as possible about the history of the castle.
To learn more about the history of Britain and get the feel of the major regions and cities, you will certainly need to consider adding the above places on your travel bucket list.
